Birkenbihl Decode

Challenge

Anyone learning a language with the Birkenbihl method has to laboriously decode texts word by word and voice them by hand – which costs time and slows down the actual learning.

Solution

A web app that decodes entered texts word by word in real time using AI (Google Gemini) and reads them aloud with synchronised audio – including active/passive listening, loop and a speed control. Server-side caching and a daily budget keep AI costs under control.

Result

Learners decode and listen to a text in seconds instead of hours of manual prep. Login, a personal audio library and history turn the prototype into a fully fledged learning platform.

SaaS for medical practices

Practice Leave Management

Challenge

In medical practices, leave and absence planning often runs on paper, Excel and word of mouth – overlaps from simultaneous absences only surface late.

Solution

A mobile-first web app in which staff submit leave requests and the practice management approves them – with calendar and list views, roles and automatic conflict detection. Built multi-tenant as the basis for a SaaS subscription model.

Result

Absences are clear at all times, overlaps are detected automatically and the manual paper shuffle is gone. As a multi-tenant SaaS, the solution can be rolled out to further practices.

Custom SaaS Software

Workload & Capacity Controlling for Educational Institutions

Challenge

In an educational institution for children and adolescents with special support needs, staff workloads, group assignments and the utilisation of individual programs were managed across distributed Excel sheets. Over- and under-allocation, contract date cutovers or absences, and learner-to-program assignments could only be tracked with significant manual effort, making the process error-prone and never fully up to date.

Solution

A custom web app that maps the full "workload controlling" process: programs and support types, teams and groups, employees with contracts, workloads and absences, plus learner assignments — all calculated with date awareness and exact cutover logic. A central dashboard shows colour-coded utilisation at a glance, role-based access control and Azure AD single sign-on protect sensitive data, and an Excel import handles legacy records without duplicate entry.

Result

Availability and utilisation are transparent at all times, bottlenecks and overcapacity become visible early, and resource planning across a full school year is based on reliable numbers instead of scattered spreadsheets. The former manual paper-and-Excel process becomes a traceable, multi-user controlling tool.
